Mon, 06 Oct 2025 07:00:49 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=546922It seems that wireless charging in smartphones is entering a new era of development. While previously added simply for the sake of it, it's now starting to become a truly convenient tool, and Apple deserves much of the credit for this. Starting with the iPhone 12, the company added MagSafe magnets to the standard Qi charger, increasing the power to 15W, and the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 received Qi2 25W certification, meaning the power has increased to a whopping 25W. However, until recently, compatible chargers simply weren't available on the market. Fortunately, this situation is improving, and here you have two docking stations and a power bank with Qi2 25W support from UGREEN.
Let's start with a power bank for iPhone. For any external battery, not only charging speed but also ease of use plays an important role. Here, the UGREEN MagFlow 10000 mAh, 25 W magnetic external battery is really at its best. Firstly, the case is made of a very pleasant soft-touch material. It doesn't slip in your hands and even after you magnetically attach it to your smartphone, it allows you to hold the device as securely as possible.
The screen displays the remaining charge and the charging method of connected devices.
Secondly, the UGREEN external battery is equipped with a convenient display that shows the remaining charge and the charging method of the connected device. Thirdly, the case has a built-in USB-C cable, which also serves as a carrying strap. This means you are not limited to wireless charging. As for the use of the UGREEN power bank itself, I can only praise the developers and engineers. The magnets are powerful and securely fix the external battery to the back of the iPhone.
As soon as you magnetize the power bank to the iPhone, the charge begins to replenish automatically.
As for performance, iPhone 16 Pro Max, the entire iPhone 17 lineup, and the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will charge from a power bank at 25 W, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro - at 22 W, iPhone Air will be limited to 20 W, iPhone 12 - iPhone 15 will take 15 W, but smartphones without MagSafe support can consume and Even less. You don't have to worry about overheating either. It has the same advanced ThermalGuard system as the docking stations, meaning you won't have any problems with high temperatures.
You can also charge it using the built-in cable.
I liked the battery both in terms of its tactile feel and in terms of its capabilities. This power bank for iPhone is easy to take with you and charge your smartphone at any time on the road. A definite must-have for anyone who is constantly on the go and wants to always stay connected. Oh, and you can also take this external battery on a plane, which is rare these days.
After the external battery, we can also discuss desktop chargers. For example, the UGREEN MagFlow 2-in-1 Wireless Magnetic Charger, 25W. The name is a bit long, so we'll shorten it to just MagFlow 2-in-1. The charger itself is very compact and has a foldable form factor. If you only use an iPhone, you don't have to unfold it; you can place your smartphone on it like a classic wireless charger.
The charger can be easily folded out.
If desired, the top part lifts up, revealing another platform with wireless charging. It is ideal for AirPods headphones. I tried charging both AirPods Pro and Huawei FreeClip with it, and they charge without any problems. The dock itself is equipped with two USB-C ports. One for supplying power, and the other, conversely, for outputting it. This means you can connect the cable directly to the dock and power any other device from it. It’s convenient that you don’t have to reach for the power supply.
An additional USB-C port is hidden on the side edge.
As for power, the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the entire iPhone 17 series, and the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will charge at 25W, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro at 22W, the iPhone Air will be limited to 20W, the iPhone 12 - iPhone 15 will take 15W, and smartphones without MagSafe support may consume even less. In particular, the iPhone 16e won't get more than 7.5W from it. I'd also like to mention heating. Many wireless chargers are prone to this issue. I have an iPhone 16 Plus and I charge it with MagFlow. I've had the 2-in-1 for a month now. Not once during this period has the smartphone gotten seriously hot. It got warm, but nothing more.
All devices charge properly and do not overheat.
That's because MagFlow 2 in 1 uses an intelligent ThermalGuard system: heat-conducting silicone, a metal plate for rapid cooling, and dual NTC sensors that measure temperature 200 times per second, which is guaranteed to prevent overheating. Overall, it's a great value for your money. It's especially suitable for those looking for the most compact charging station for iPhone with good charging speed.
If you also have an Apple Watch, then you should take a closer look at the UGREEN MagFlow 3-in-1 Wireless Magnetic Charger, 25W. Let's shorten it to just MagFlow 3-in-1. This dock is a bit larger. The space for the iPhone can also be raised, but you can't charge anything underneath it. There is a separate place for AirPods on the right side.
The place for the iPhone rises, and AirPods can be charged on the platform on the right.
If you are also the happy owner of an Apple Watch, then on the back panel there is a charging tablet for Apple smartwatch hidden for you. Just press it and slide it out of the case. If necessary, it can be hidden inside at any time, and it will not interfere. As for the power, the story here is the same as with MagFlow 2 in 1: iPhone 16 Pro Max, the entire iPhone 17 line and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will be charged from it at 25 W power, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro - at 22 W, iPhone Air will be limited to 20 W, iPhone 12 — iPhone 15 will take 15 W, and smartphones without MagSafe — less than 15 W.
Charge everything on this dock at once
By the way, don't forget that the Qi2 25W is backward compatible with earlier Qi charging standards, which means you can charge any Android with the corresponding capability. The only thing is that it won't stick to the magnet, but this can be easily solved with the help of special magnetic cases, which almost every manufacturer already has. The MagFlow 3 in 1 uses the same ThermalGuard overheating protection system as the 2 in 1 version, which means you don't have to worry about heating.
Please note that the MagFlow 3-in-1 comes with a power adapter and connection cable. This means you get everything you need when you choose this iPhone dock, which is very convenient.
There are several docking stations and a cool external battery to choose from.
]]>What should I do if my iPhone runs out of storage?
https://appleinsider.ru/obzory-zheleza/chto-delat-esli-na-ajfone-zakonchilas-svobodnaya-pamyat.html
Sun, 05 Oct 2025 16:00:34 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547477Every year, the iPhone gains new capabilities: the camera takes even better photos, processors become more powerful, and users use their smartphones more and more. But along with this comes a problem that is familiar to most owners: over time, you start to feel like something is still missing. And that is memory.
Even the most advanced versions of the iPhone have a limited amount of internal memory. So, when actively shooting high-resolution video, for example, in 4K and ProRes, and also storing RAW photos, large files or media collections, space runs out in no time.
Using cloud storage (iCloud, Google Drive and the like) solves only part of the problems, and it is not always convenient, because you need a fast and stable Internet, as well as paying for a subscription and unlimited traffic.
With the release of the 15th generation, iPhone owners have the opportunity to use a huge number of accessories. This is because now all Apple smartphones are equipped with USB-C, through which you can connect chargers, headphones, and other devices, including external drives. What are the latter for?
An external drive can be useful:
If you need to transfer photos or videos from your iPhone to free up space.
To shoot directly to an external drive, bypassing the internal memory.
As a travel option - to use only the iPhone without a computer.
To share large files between devices.
If you store libraries of music, documents, and various projects.
Also, an iPhone with USB-C has the ability to record video directly to an external drive, provided certain requirements for write speed and file system support are met.
When purchasing a drive, consider the following parameters:
You need a USB-C connector. If it has a Lightning port, you won't be able to connect the drive to new iPhones.
For shooting video, especially ProRes, the write speed must be high: 200–300 MB/s and above.
The device must support exFAT or APFS so that iOS can work with it without limitations.
It is advisable to choose models with 512 GB, 1 TB, and above. These are the best options for content creators.
The presence of a magnetic mount. Specially adapted for iPhones, the drive is attached to the back panel and does not take up much space.
A selection of external drives for iPhone
Below we have compiled a selection of excellent external SSDs that are relevant in 2025.
Some SSDs hang on a wire, while others are attached magnetically. Image: 9to5mac.com
Kingston XS2000. Compact portable SSD with USB-C. In the context of the iPhone, it is known as one of the options suitable for recording video directly to disk.
Lexar Professional Go. This SSD and USB-C hub are combined into a single device with additional ports. The accessory supports read/write speeds of approximately 1000 MB/s, making it suitable for high-definition video recording.
SanDisk Creator. A great option for content creation. It connects via cable and is held on the iPhone using the MagSafe system. The drive supports recording in 4K ProRes format, and is also protected from damage by a silicone shell.
Reletech Elite 9 Ultra. External storage with magnets. Made in an aluminum case, so it cools itself well and also helps dissipate heat from the smartphone case. Read and write speeds here reach 2000 MB/s.
Anker MagGo USB-C. This is not a full-fledged SSD, but a module for reading SD and microSD memory cards. It attaches magnetically to the back of your iPhone and supports high-speed video-capable cards.
Any USB-C drive with USB 3.2 support. You don't need to buy a drive specifically adapted for iPhone. Many brands (Samsung, Western Digital, Crucial) produce compact and versatile SSDs that can be connected not only to computers, but also used with your iPhone via a cable. The main thing is that the drive is fast enough to handle streaming.
If you're short on memory, buy an external SSD. Image: eonelectronics.co
]]>Updated iPad 10 to iPadOS 26: How the new iPad OS works on Apple's budget tablets
https://appleinsider.ru/ipad/obnovil-ipad-10-na-ipados-26-kak-rabotaet-novaya-os-dlya-ipad-na-deshevyx-planshetax-apple.html
Sun, 05 Oct 2025 14:00:53 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547460In iPadOS 26, Apple not only updated the design with the Liquid Glass effect, but also significantly improved multitasking on iPads by adding a windowed mode, similar to a computer. While this feature works flawlessly on devices with M-series processors, there are some concerns about how it will work on cheaper iPads with regular A-series chips. So, I've installed iPadOS 26 on my base 2022 iPad and am ready to share my impressions of the new OS with you.
Don't forget to set up a large clock for both portrait and landscape modes.
Immediately after installing iPadOS 26 on my tablet, I noticed, no, not multi-window, as you probably already thought, but a glass effect on the clock and app icons. It looks pretty cool and refreshes the iPad's appearance. In general, the Liquid Glass design, although I didn't like it during the presentation, I really liked it in everyday use. Volume, iridescent colors, and cool effects look great on both iPhone and iPad.
The icons have become more voluminous and have a new design.
By the way, the ability to customize a large clock on the lock screen has also appeared on the iPad. Just keep in mind that if you want them to appear in both landscape and portrait orientations, you need to stretch them separately in both modes. Otherwise, you will have a large clock in one version, and a regular one in the other. I just encountered this and at first thought it was a glitch, and only then remembered that iPads are configured horizontally and vertically separately.
Even the settings have become more interesting
Multitasking in iPadOS 26
Open apps in multiple windows, but the big question is whether you need it.
Now let's talk about multitasking. I updated to iPadOS 26 back in June, when the first beta versions were released, and believe it or not, I have never used multiple windows in my everyday life. For testing or just for fun - yes, but in a way that I need it for some of my regular tasks - no.
When closing the App Library, this unexpected thing happens.
However, multi-window works perfectly on iPad. Apps stretch easily, move around the screen, and when running multiple programs, there are no glitches. In this regard, there are no performance issues even on the old iPad 2022. But what was not fixed even in iOS 26.0.1 is a strange exit from the iPad App Library. Instead of neatly closing, app icons pile up in one heap in the upper right corner of the iPad, and it looks like a glitch.
I still don't understand the point of the menu bar
This happens every time, and the animation itself doesn't look like this for more than a second, but it's still strange. But what I didn't understand at all is the menu bar like on macOS. While on Apple computers it's constantly displayed on the screen and has a real benefit, on the iPad it's not needed at all. Unless you constantly work on the tablet and don't want to call up the context menu.
iPad battery life
As for battery life, the battery life My iPad 10 on iPadOS 26 hasn't changed at all. I used to charge it once a week, and I continue to do so, depending on my needs. I haven't used it less often; everything is still going as usual. The same can be said about app performance.Everything works as it should, and even the old banking clients, which were long ago removed from the App Store, function normally.
Is it worth updating to iPadOS 26?
Overall, I liked iPadOS 26, but I think it has too many pointless features. In particular, the iPad had more than enough Split View and Slide Over modes for normal operation, but Apple decided to remove them and replace them with full-fledged multi-window, like on a computer.
I upgraded from an iPad 10 and didn't regret it
I didn't really use the latest version for any everyday work. But I liked the design. It looks cool, to be honest. But the most important thing is that the new OS doesn't negatively impact the overall performance of even older iPads with simple processors. And tablets with M-series chips will have no problems with its operation even more.

iPhone can now scan stool and determine intestinal health from photos
https://appleinsider.ru/obzory-prilozhenij/ajfon-nauchilsya-skanirovat-kal-i-opredelyatyat-zdorove-kishechnika-po-foto.html
Sun, 05 Oct 2025 10:00:45 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547501Our body gives dozens of signals about its condition every day, but most of them go unnoticed. Meanwhile, it is these little things that can tell a lot about your health and even warn of problems before real symptoms appear. Recently, an unusual app has appeared that offers to look at familiar things from a completely new angle.
Now users can take photos of their stool and get analytical data about the state of their digestive system and intestines based on the image. The app uses artificial intelligence technologies to evaluate various indicators: the presence of inflammation, hydration level, digestion quality, immunity level, and even stress. In total, the developers promise more than 20 health markers. At the same time, they also claim that their algorithms have been approved by leading institutions, including Harvard.
ATTENTION! Flush does not claim to be a doctor and does not provide precise diagnoses. All recommendations are merely guidelines for reflection, as well as means for increasing mindfulness, but in no way medical prescriptions. In general, this app is best taken as a joke, and not an excuse to self-medicate.
How does stool assessment work using an iPhone?
First, you need to register and set up a profile. When you first launch the app, it asks basic questions: age, height, eating habits, symptoms, and more. This helps the AI adapt to your individual characteristics.
Then a scan is performed. When you visit the toilet, you take a picture of your stool directly in the app. The developers ask you not to worry about privacy and assure you that this data is not stored anywhere, including on the device.
The interface is simple and intuitive. Image: apple.com
Analysis and report. After processing the photo, AI analyzes the main object of the photo: shape, color, texture and other visual features. Then it provides a transcript and explanation of how healthy your gut is.
Tracking and recommendations. After several uses, the app will track your indicators and offer diet tips and regimen to maintain or improve your condition.
By the way, the app works for a while for free, but upon registration it asks for a subscription with a deferred debit condition. So if you want to register, test and delete the program, don't forget to cancel the subscription renewal later. Otherwise, one day you will find at least a couple of thousand rubles missing from your wallet.

Why does a call disconnect after 30 or 60 minutes?
https://appleinsider.ru/tips-tricks/pochemu-obryvaetsya-zvonok-cherez-30-ili-60-minut.html
Sun, 05 Oct 2025 08:00:39 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547366It's 2025, and fewer and fewer people use smartphones for their intended purpose—mobile phone calls. Users increasingly prefer instant messaging or video calls. However, regular phone calls are still around, though they've become less popular. It so happened that my wife was hospitalized for several weeks this summer, and the internet there was incredibly poor, so we mostly communicated via regular phone calls. Unfortunately, the calls would occasionally drop, even though there was no interference.
It so happened that before the summer calls, we never had to hang on the phone for long. Most often, a call was limited to a couple of minutes, or half an hour. In this case, we talked for an hour or more and then ran into a network limitation. Most cellular operators in Russia set a limit on the duration of a single call on their networks. That is, as soon as you dial a certain amount of time, the call is automatically disconnected.
Didn't know about this? Well, it was a revelation for me too. Simply call the same number again, and the timer will restart from zero. Unfortunately, this restriction can't be disabled. It's a network setting, and it applies to all the operator's subscribers in a specific region. Why is it needed? The simplest explanation is to protect against unplanned charges. This reset will make you reconsider whether it's worth calling back and will allow you to assess your balance.
Most carriers disconnect after an hour.
Please note that the call time limit may vary depending on the region and carrier. For example, our colleagues from iPhones.ru note that MegaFon in Moscow limits calls to 22 minutes, and Beeline to thirty. In Novosibirsk, MegaFon has set slightly different limits. In my case, the call is dropped after 60 minutes. MTS works similarly, ending the call after an hour.
So the reset occurs differently not only depending on the operator, but also differs in different regions. Therefore, if you are talking on the phone for a long time and the call is unexpectedly disconnected, don’t blame it on a bad connection. In 99% of cases, it’s because you have reached the set limit for one call and it’s time to simply call the subscriber back.
Unexpected call endings are always surprising.

The iPhone Air's USB-C port has a nasty drawback. And it's not just the slow data transfer speed.
https://appleinsider.ru/iphone/usb-cv-iphone-air-okazalsya-s-nepriyatnym-nyuansom-i-eto-ne-tolko-nizkaya-skorost-peredachi-dannyx.html
Sat, 04 Oct 2025 16:00:20 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547274Each new generation of iPhone generates heated debate not only around its design and features, but also around details that at first glance seem minor. One such detail is the USB port speed: users expected a noticeable improvement from the modern Type C, but initial tests show a different picture.
ChargerLAB tested the iPhone Air and found that its peak charging power with Apple's proprietary adapters reaches only 18-19 watts. This is significantly less than that of older models: the iPhone 17, under similar conditions, shows 27-28 watts, and iPhone 17 Pro Max even accelerates to 36 watts. How does this affect the speed of energy replenishment?
Apple promises that even with such indicators the new Air is capable of gaining half a charge in 30 minutes when using an adapter with a power of 20 W or higher. For comparison, more expensive devices achieve the same result in 20 minutes, which is about 30% faster.

iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max

up to 25 W
From the first At first glance, this limitation might seem to put the Air at a disadvantage compared to other models. But behind the reduced power, as a rule, lies the traditional logic of Apple's optimization and precision: a slow and smooth power delivery reduces heat and potentially extends battery life.
This is especially important forA smartphone as thin as the iPhone Air, where even in perfect condition the battery doesn't offer the best battery life. So, you have to sacrifice instant speed for long-range stability right from the get-go. Otherwise, you'll have to quickly replace the battery with a new one.
As a result, the new Air finds itself at a crossroads of compromises. For some, the reduced charging speed is a significant drawback, because the difference in minutes of charging is noticeable always and in everything. For others, spending an extra ten minutes on a wire isn't a problem. They see it as a balance between convenience and durability.
By the way, the iPhone Air's port limitations won't just be limited to charging: the new model's port only operates at USB 2.0 speeds, meaning it can reach speeds of up to 480 Mbps. And this despite the fact that the iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max already support USB 3 (up to 10 Gbps). Again, the average user is unlikely to find this a problem, but those who like to shoot a lot of 4K video and quickly transfer materials to a computer will definitely not like it.
The charging port on the smartphone is offset from the center. But this is not the main problem. Image: macrumors.com

Let's see how iOS 26.0.1 affects iPhone battery life. Photo: pcmag.com
Not long ago, Apple released the first update of the new operating system - iOS 26.0.1 with minor bug fixes. The Cupertino company traditionally devoted it to eliminating various security vulnerabilities. In addition, minor bugs that users found after the release of iOS 26 were also fixed. As we know, even such minor updates can affect iPhone battery life. It's time to check how battery life has changed with iOS 26.0.1 on board the most popular Apple smartphones of different years.
How does an iPhone hold its charge with iOS 26.0.1?
Despite the fact that iOS 26.0.1 was released on Monday, September 29, iAppleBytes took an unusually long break, releasing a fresh review only on Friday, October 3rd. Many even thought that this time the blogger would skip the update and not test it, but this turned out to be wrong.
The same "persons" and "8212" from iPhone SE 2020 to iPhone 16. We will study how the battery time of the iPhone with iOS 26.0.1 has changed compared to the starting version, as well as iOS 18.0.1. Spoiler: this iOS has more interesting things than you might think!

There is very good news for owners of iPhone SE, iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. Apple has once again paid attention to the autonomy of these smartphones, so they hold a charge with iOS 26.0.1 as long as a year ago with iOS 18.0.1. This stability is definitely pleasing! Others have seen changes.
The battery life of the iPhone 13 is changing dramatically again. With iOS 26, it reached an impressive 5 hours 44 minutes, and now it has dropped by half an hour. Last year's iOS 18.0.1 was more harmless.
The battery life of the iPhone 15 with iOS 26.0.1 has not changed, but compared to last year's version, it has dropped by almost an hour. But this is also not surprising: Apple always cuts the battery life of new smartphones with updates.
But the iPhone 16 with iOS 26.0.1 holds its charge for 20 minutes - quite unexpected.
And again, we draw your attention to the fact that minor iOS updates affect the battery life . Especially,If we are talking about starting versions, where there is still some work to do. But what is nice is that iOS 26.0.1 doesn’t kill iPhone batteries either in comparison with iOS 26 or with iOS 18.0.1 from a year ago.
We would like to remind you that iOS 26.0.1 test results are not 100% accurate: battery life may depend on many factors. That's why we always ask our readers for their opinions, launching a survey on our Telegram channel. We did the same this time—here are the results from the 1,322 readers who responded.
Our readers shared their thoughts on iOS 26.0.1
10% of readers noted an increase in battery life with iOS 26.0.1.
39% did not notice a difference.
For 12% of respondents, the battery life of their iPhone decreased faster.
39% did not update.
Compared to the previous survey, the number of those who noticed an increase in battery life has increased. At the same time, the number of those who did not notice a difference has increased, and the number of complaints about battery life has decreased by almost 2 times. What remains unchanged is the layer of users who have not updated their iPhones. But this will probably change soon: iOS 26.1 is already at the beta testing stage and its release is just around the corner.

Why does a cheap Android outlast an expensive iPhone in battery life?
https://appleinsider.ru/iphone/pochemu-deshevyj-android-obgonyaet-dorogie-iphone-po-avtonomnosti.html
Sat, 04 Oct 2025 12:00:26 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547322We all have that friend or colleague who bought a smartphone for 12,000 rubles and sincerely believes it's the best purchase in the world. And that's because their gadget can last 2-3 days on a single charge, while an iPhone only lasts from morning until evening. It's a shame Android owners can't tell the difference between a calculator and a computer. But we do, so we'll explain it all to you in simple terms.
Which screen drains the most battery?
The main factor that drains battery is the screen. Budget Android smartphones often feature simple IPS matrices or OLED displays with low resolutions and refresh rates no higher than 60 Hz. Such screens consume significantly less energy, but also have significant drawbacks. A simple IPS panel has poor contrast, while a cheap OLED is prone to burn-in and has subpar color rendering.
Recently, manufacturers have begun installing decent OLEDs with 120 Hz support even in their most inexpensive devices. They consume more energy, but all this is compensated by a huge battery.
The iPhone, on the contrary, has super-bright OLED screens with a high resolution and a frequency of up to 120 Hz. Here the picture is smooth and beautiful, but you have to pay for this with battery life. And the processor here is "strained" stronger, since the resolution is higher, which means the graphics core has to process more information.
The weakest processor in budget Android
All modern iPhones are equipped with the most powerful A-series processors, which provide the best performance in the mobile segment. For example, the graphics performance in the latest A19 Pro is so high that they can compete with computer graphics cards in terms of capabilities. However, such chips also consume much more power, especially when gaming, shooting video, or working with AR.
This year's top processor is divided into three versions. Image: 9to5mac.com
But budget Android devices receive very modest chips, designed more for social networks and instant messengers. Their power is limited, but their power consumption is also low. If you are ready to sacrifice smartphone speed and the ability to run serious games, you will get more battery life in return.
The battery capacity of the iPhone is always lower
Interesting fact: many cheap Android smartphones have been equipped with batteries with a capacity of 5000–6000 mAh for several years in a row. For comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a battery of only 4400 mAh. Even in the newest iPhone 17 Pro Max, the capacity was increased to only 5000 mAh. And this despite the fact that smartphones from Chinese brands are already receiving batteries of 7000 mAh and higher.
Software optimization allows iPhones to achieve acceptable battery life. This is one of the company's main features, which seems to have almost exhausted itself. Therefore, Apple will soon have to accept the rule "bigger battery, longer battery life."
4K Video on iPhone
iPhones are designed for users who actively use the camera, shoot 4K video, play demanding games, and edit videos. All of this puts a colossal strain on the battery.
Buyers of budget Android smartphones often limit themselves to calls, instant messaging, and YouTube. In short, the load is lower, so the smartphone lasts longer.
iPhone Air Problems
Apple always emphasizes design, compactness, and versatility. A great example:the new iPhone Air with a record-breaking thinness and a very powerful processor. Of course, a thick iPhone with a 7000 mAh battery will have more battery life, but it will immediately lose out on style and ergonomics.
The smartphone looks stylish, and you can't argue with that. Image: tomsguide.com
Manufacturers of inexpensive Android smartphones take a different approach: they are more interested in impressing buyers with a powerful battery, because this is one of the main selection criteria in the budget segment. Design and convenience take a back seat.
Artificial Intelligence in iPhone
One of the new features in the latest versions of iOS is a proprietary neural network, which is tightly integrated into the system and helps the user perform various tasks faster. For example, AI in iPhones now processes photos, writes emails, and draws pictures. iOS 26 also introduces an AI-powered power saving feature that helps save battery. But here's the paradox: this AI uses the processor to operate, so it happily wastes some of the saved battery.
In short, the iPhone battery mystery is easily explained: cheap Android smartphones have better battery life not because they're more technologically advanced, but because they're simpler. Their modest screens, low performance, and large batteries allow them to last longer. The iPhone, on the other hand, is focused on power, screen quality, and design. This comes at the expense of battery life.
The battle between the thickest batteries and the thinnest cases continues
]]>What happens if you saw an iPhone 17 with a grinder with paper, wood, and diamond blades?
https://appleinsider.ru/iphone/chtoby-budet-esli-pilit-iphone-17-bolgarkoj-s-diskami-iz-bumagi-dereva-i-almazov.html
Sat, 04 Oct 2025 08:00:51 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547293Modern gadgets amaze not only with their power, but also with their resistance to damage. Flagship manufacturers promise that each new generation is ready to withstand almost the most brutal durability tests. But where is the real limit of this protection? Enthusiasts tested the iPhone 17 in the most radical way.
iPhone 17 Durability Test
The authors of the experiment decided to test Apple's new flagship using a tool that is commonly used for cutting metal and stone. With just one caveat: to spice up the tests and make them more spectacular, they used cutting attachments made of different materials.
The experiment began not with a classic abrasive disc, but with an ordinary napkin. It was cut to size and mounted on a grinder. Naturally, only one participant passed this test: the iPhone, of course. The napkin simply deformed and didn't cause any damage.
Next, we used A4 paper as a cutting material. The result was similar: the paper bent without causing any damage. The cardboard circle showed slightly more resistance, but the iPhone again emerged victorious in this battle. And only the wood material lasted the longest, although it eventually burned to the ground, leaving only dust and minor scratches on the smartphone's display.
But the next material managed to cope with the smartphone's protective ceramic coating: an acrylic disc. It also quickly wore off, but in the end the glass cracked. Most likely, this was due to intense heat, and not mechanical impact.
A classic abrasive cutting wheel finished off the device. It immediately sawed the display, and then the entire smartphone in half. At the same time, the iPhone 17 itself did not sustain any damage or even any wear.
The bottom line is simple: the iPhone 17 demonstrated decent durability. Of course, no smartphone is designed to withstand an angle grinder, but the very fact that Apple's flagship was able to withstand a series of attacks with a wooden and even an acrylic wheel without immediately crumbling demonstrates a decent level of durability. Perhaps iPhone Air, which turned out to be so strong that it is impossible to bend by hand.

]]>iMessage won't activate on iPhone with iOS 26. What should I do?
https://appleinsider.ru/tips-tricks/ne-aktiviruetsya-imessage-na-iphone-s-ios-26-chto-delat.html
Fri, 03 Oct 2025 17:00:02 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547434After updating iPhone to iOS 26, some users encountered a problem: iMessage refuses to activate on a phone number. As a result, messages are not delivered, and the system uses green SMS messages instead of the usual "blue bubbles."
The main reason is a SIM card conflict: if the device has an active SIM card and an unused (inactive) SIM card with the same number, iOS 26 can get confused. This happens, for example, when you swapped an eSIM for a regular SIM card and didn't delete the former from the smartphone's memory, or, conversely, switched from a SIM card to an eSIM and didn't remove the physical card from the slot.
As a result, the phone tries to register iMessage for two identical numbers at once, which results in an error. The problem also occurs if the SIM card you want to enable iMessage on is not selected as the primary one. How it manifests itself:
iMessages are not sent and are marked as "Not delivered";
All messages are sent and received only as SMS;
Correspondence is not sent from the phone number, but from the Apple ID mail;
In the Messages settings, the same number is displayed twice.
There is only one solution - remove the inactive SIM and re-activate iMessage. You can do this like this:
Open Settings on iPhone;
Go to the "Cellular" section;
Find in the list of SIM cards the one that is no longer in use, but is displayed with the same number;
If it is a physical SIM, remove it from the slot;
If it is an eSIM, click "Remove eSIM";
Tap the phone number to see a check mark next to it.
Go back to Settings, select Apps & Messages;
Open the Send/Receive menu;
Tap the displayed phone number to activate iMessage.
After these steps, activation will be successful, and all messages will again be received and sent in the familiar iMessage format. Therefore, if you notice that your iPhone suddenly started using green "bubbles" instead of blue after the update, check your SIM settings. In most cases, the problem is solved in just a couple of minutes.

Vladimir Okhotnikov: How I Use the Apple Ecosystem to Live Like a Digital Nomad
https://appleinsider.ru/apple-v-licax/vladimir-oxotnikov-kak-ya-ispolzuyu-apple-ekosistemu-dlya-zhizni-v-rezhime-cifrovogo-kochevnika.html
Fri, 03 Oct 2025 15:00:14 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547511“My MacBook isn’t a work tool, it’s a portal to a free life,” says serial entrepreneur Vladimir Okhotnikov. “I hitchhike across Asia, study languages, and meditate in temples. And in this light life, the Apple ecosystem is my indispensable ally. Not because it adds capabilities, but because it quietly and reliably frees me from the unnecessary.” In this article, Vladimir shares his experience of how, using Apple devices, he built his own operating system for conscious living.
Optimizing Life, Not a Task Manager
Most articles on productivity teach us to customize apps. I suggest customizing your life. Technology is just a guide. I’m not an IT specialist; I’m, if you will, the architect of my lifestyle. Digital nomad, says Vladimir.
In recent years, Vladimir has hitchhiked through almost all of Southeast Asia, studied Tibetan in monasteries and Ayurveda in India. He carries a twelve-kilogram backpack with nothing extra. The same principle—minimalism and mindfulness—applies to the digital space. And here, the Apple ecosystem turned out to be the perfect foundation. Its value lies not in "cool features," but in predictable, seamless operation. It's like a reliable engine in a car: it doesn't have to remind you of its presence every minute; its job is simply to run while you enjoy the road.
I don't customize the interface, I customize reality. And that's how it works, — Vladimir shares.
Focus modes are a mental firewall
Usually "Focus modes" are used for the banal separation "Work/Home". For me, it is a tool for creating digital spaces for different states of consciousness. It is my firewall that cuts out information noise and allows the brain to switch between tasks without losing energy.
Vladimir Okhotnikov has created several non-standard modes:
"Deep Immersion". It is turned on when you need to write, plan routes, or just think. The mode blocks all notifications except Maps and music (only instrumental playlists or nature sounds). Incoming calls are received only from 3 contacts. It is the digital equivalent of a quiet room in a temple.
"Language Practice". This mode is activated on a schedule, morning and evening. It allows notifications only from chats with native speakers (for Vladimir, these are Telegram channels in Turkish and Farsi) and apps like Anki. The rest of the digital world is nonexistent during this time. The system forcibly creates an immersive environment.
"Tea Ceremony". The strictest regime. Complete silence. All notifications are disabled, the iPhone screen turns monochrome. Only calls from close relatives are allowed. This is 20-30 minutes a day, when the digital nomad is not a consumer of information, but simply a person who drinks tea and looks at the mountains. Technology should be able to disappear in time.
This approach transforms the smartphone from a source of distraction into a conscious tool for managing attention.
Notes and Reminders - an external hard drive for the mind
The brain is designed to generate ideas, not to store them. My task is to unload it by transferring everything unimportant to external media, which are standard Apple applications," explains Vladimir. - Notes are not just a notepad. It is a knowledge base structured using a simple tagging system (hashtags). Searching them turns the app into a powerful search engine for life.
In one note, Vladimir has a scanned manuscript on yoga in Tibetan with the tags #yoga #tibetan #sources.
In another, there is a recipe for Ayurvedic tea from India: #ayurveda #health #recipe.
Ideas for articles on protecting the Amazon are tagged #project_Amazonia.
All of this is instantly found through search. Cross-platform compatibility is key: I make edits on a MacBook, and check the recipe on an iPhone, standing at the stove in a guesthouse in Bali, says Vladimir.
Our hero uses reminders not as a to-do list like "buy milk." For him, it is a rhythm manager for the entire day. A system that frees you from the need to remember about routine.
"10:00 — practice "Simple Pause" (time-based). Not a suggestion, but a command. Like a daily build server for your mental state.
"Evening — write down 3 ideas for a project" (time/place-based).
"Upon entering the hostel — pack your backpack for tomorrow."
This isn't micro-management; it's taking background processes out of your consciousness. Freed-up brain resources are used for learning languages and solving truly important problems.
Apple Watch — a sensor of your internal state
For most people, a smartwatch is a fitness tracker. For me, it's a crucial sensor of metrics by which I can judge the state of the system called "body." "I look at them not to close the rings, but to get data for decision-making," Vladimir Okhotnikov shares.
Breathing reminders aren't a fun animation. They're planned tech stops. The watch gently reminds:You need to take 4 deep breaths. This reboots the nervous system, relieves stress. A technical break for the biological organism.
Morning check of heart rate variability (HRV). This indicator has become for Okhotnikov an objective indicator of stress level and quality of recovery. A low HRV in the morning is a signal that it is worth planning a less intense day, perhaps adding meditation. This data helps optimize "productivity" as a person.
Sleep phases. Vladimir doesn't fanatically strive for a perfect schedule, but data from his watch helps him adjust his regime. If our hero sees that he is regularly not getting enough deep sleep, then something needs to change – maybe ventilate the room or stop drinking tea after six.
The Apple Watch is a bridge between the digital world and my physical state. They provide feedback, without which any optimization is blind, - Vladimir notes.
Our hero’s experience proves that these devices can be more than just gadgets for consuming content, but become the core of your personal operating system. A system that will work for your freedom, not against it.
It doesn’t matter where you are - in an office in Moscow or a teahouse in Bali. Your ecosystem is already in your hands. All that's left is to configure it correctly, says Vladimir Okhotnikov.
Vladimir Okhotnikov is a philosopher, digital nomad, and tech enthusiast.

Why do you need Apple smart glasses and what will they give you in real life?
https://appleinsider.ru/eto-interesno/vsyo-o-budushhix-umnyx-ochkax-apple-dizajn-funkcii-sroki-vyxoda-i-cena.html
Fri, 03 Oct 2025 13:07:43 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547446Apple is preparing its next completely new gadget – smart glasses, which are intended to compete with Ray-Ban's Meta*. According to insiders, the company even paused work on a new version of Vision Pro to expedite this project. The logic is simple: the market is already ripe, and glasses with cameras, microphones, and AI integration are becoming not a novelty but a mass-market accessory. Apple wants to play by its own rules.
It's important to understand that the first generation Apple Glasses will not feature screens in the lenses. The main emphasis is on the camera, audio, and voice control via the new Siri. The glasses are conceived as a stylish everyday accessory that seamlessly complements the iPhone, not replaces it. That's why design and practicality come to the forefront.
Apple intends to focus on fashion. As with the first Apple Watch, the company plans to offer a variety of frames and temples, including various materials and colors. Despite the fact that a battery, chip, and cameras need to be placed inside, the glasses should look like a fully-fledged accessory, and not a bulky prototype.
Apple smart glasses will not resemble Vision Pro in any way
The main way to control future glasses is voice. But for this, Apple needs a new Siri, built on large language models. Such an assistant should not just answer simple queries, but understand context, give advice and even describe the world around her using cameras. Translate a sign, give directions, identify a plant or quickly send a message. All this should work without having to take your smartphone out of your pocket.
In terms of features, Apple Glasses will feature the same capabilities as Meta glasses*: photo and video recording, listening to music and podcasts, navigation, calls and messages, on-the-fly conversation translation, and recognition of objects around them. Importantly, all of this will be integrated into the iPhone ecosystem, which should give the device an advantage in terms of convenience and stability.
It's also worth noting that the glasses will work in tandem with an iPhone. They will house a chip based on the Apple Watch architecture, while heavy calculations will be handled by the smartphone. This approach should increase the autonomy of the glasses and allow the use of Apple Intelligence capabilities without compromising the thickness and weight of the device.
Apple's smart glasses against the backdrop of Vision Pro
The release dates are already roughly known: the first Apple Glasses could be shown at the end of 2026, with sales starting in early 2027. In terms of price, the company will most likely focus on competitors: Meta* Ray-Ban starts at $380, and Apple is unlikely to want to deviate too much to make the product mainstream.
As a result, the first Apple Glasses will not be about augmented reality, but about a smart assistant built into stylish glasses. A camera, microphones, and the new Siri should turn them into a convenient tool for everyday tasks - from notes and translations to prompts and quick calls. If Apple manages to combine fashion, battery life, and intelligence, the glasses could follow the path of the Apple Watch: stylish first accessory, and then an indispensable gadget for millions of users.

Why I Disabled the New Safari Design in iOS 26 and Suggest You Do Too
https://appleinsider.ru/tips-tricks/pochemu-ya-otklyuchil-novyj-dizajn-safari-v-ios-26-i-sovetuyu-eto-sdelat-vam.html
Fri, 03 Oct 2025 11:00:14 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547439iOS 26 was a pretty serious redesign of the operating system for iPhone. And while I liked the new glass controls in Settings and most apps, I still couldn't accept the Safari browser. For several months, starting with the beta versions, I tried to get used to the minimalist appearance of Safari, but I could not do it, and I think I understood why.
It seems that what could be bad when the Safari browser interface takes up practically no space on the screen. When you start scrolling through a website, all that's left at the bottom of the screen is its small name, and that's it. It looks cool, sure, but the problem is, it's precisely this that's inconvenient. Imagine having several tabs open and needing to switch between them. In the old Safari design, you could jump to the tab list with a single tap.
The extra taps in the new design ruin the whole experience.
In the case of Safari in iOS 26, this requires extra steps. First, you have to tap the circle with three dots, and then go to the tab bar. It seems like an extra tap, but if you do this almost a hundred times a day, it just becomes annoying. This was the main reason why I rejected the new Safari design in iOS 26. Now I recommend you do this, but if you don’t know how, then look:
It's easier to return to the old design, which has become more modern, but retained its convenience.
Open Settings on iPhone;
Go to the "Applications" section;
Select "Safari";
Scroll to the "Tabs" block;
Switch from the "Compact" view to "Bottom" or "Top".
Now Safari will look almost the same as on iOS 18, with the addition of Liquid Glass design. That is, it will combine familiar convenience with a modern appearance. Well, Safari's compact design definitely requires some refinement or some kind of gesture for quickly switching to all tabs.

CashHunter is Gazprombank's new iPhone app. Download it now before it's deleted.
https://appleinsider.ru/obzory-prilozhenij/cashhunter-novoe-prilozhenie-gazprombanka-dlya-iphone-kachaj-poka-ne-udalili.html
Fri, 03 Oct 2025 08:40:16 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547475After a long absence, the Gazprombank app for iPhone is again available in the App Store, but now under a new name - CashHunter. Despite the name change, users will immediately recognize the familiar interface: the application has retained all the functions that were in the previous versions and added several noticeable improvements.
The main new feature is one-touch payment using Turbo QR. This is a convenient mode for those who often use QR codes. To activate it, simply turn on "Turbo" when paying, select a card and specify the maximum amount to be debited in advance. As a result, the transaction is instantaneous, without additional confirmation, which is convenient in stores and cafes where speed is important. Another useful feature is the ability to top up your Apple ID directly from the app. The option is hidden in the menu: "Payments" → "Top up Apple Account." Now you don't need to look for workarounds to add money to your account for App Store purchases or subscription payments.
Otherwise, CashHunter works the same as the previous Gazprombank app: transfers, payments, card and service management remain unchanged. Essentially, this is an updated version of the old client, but with an emphasis on new, convenient tools that simplify everyday operations.
The return of the application to the App Store is good news for the bank's clients, because now they can use all the familiar functions without restrictions on their iPhone. And new features like Turbo QR and Apple ID top-up make CashHunter even more useful than before. The main thing is to download it before it is removed. Typically, applications from sanctioned banks are not available in the App Store for more than 24 hours.

What the iPhone 17e will look like and when it will be released: Dynamic Island design, a processor like the top iPhones, and a single camera again.
https://appleinsider.ru/iphone/kakim-budet-i-kogda-vyjdet-iphone-17e-dizajn-s-dynamic-island-processor-kak-v-topovyx-ajfonax-i-opyat-odinarnaya-kamera.html
Fri, 03 Oct 2025 07:00:56 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547428This year, Apple surprised everyone with the release of iPhone 16e - a budget model for $599, which effectively replaced the legendary iPhone SE line. The smartphone proved popular thanks to its combination of up-to-date hardware and the familiar design of the iPhone 14. Now, after the release of the iPhone 17, attention has shifted to its successor: should we expect an iPhone 17e and what surprises will it have?
According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 17e is indeed coming, and we won't have to wait long for it. Reliable sources, including analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, assure that the new product will be unveiled in the first half of 2026. This will be part of Apple's new strategy to release affordable e-versions annually, lagging behind their flagships by just a few months. There are disagreements about the timeframe, however: some sources say February, while others hint at May 2026.
Speaking of the display, don't expect miracles. According to the Korean publication The Elec, Apple will continue to use the same OLED panel as the iPhone 16e, meaning we'll get a screen of the same quality as the iPhone 14. This is a Super Retina XDR display with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, peak brightness up to 1200 nits, and a resolution of 2532x1170 pixels. Yes, it's lower than the base iPhone 16, but for its price, the picture quality is still very decent.
It's time for Apple to completely ditch the notch in favor of Dynamic Island. Image: idownloadblog.com
The most controversial point is the design. An insider at Digital Chat Station claims that the iPhone 17e will get a Dynamic Island panel instead of a notch. This is logical, since even the base iPhone 15 has long since switched to a notch panel. But there is a contradiction here: if Apple really does keep the same panel as the iPhone 14, then it will be more difficult to implement a Dynamic Island panel. So, for now, this point remains in question.
The situation with the processor is much more interesting. The iPhone 17e is rumored to feature the top-of-the-line A19 chip, the same one found in the iPhone 17. Built using an improved 3nm process, it features a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU with hardware ray tracing, and a new AI engine. This means the newer model will be just as capable as its older siblings in terms of performance and Apple Intelligence support. For an affordable iPhone, this is an extremely strong argument.
There will definitely be no problems with the iPhone 17e's performance. Image: macworld.com
But the camera will remain single. The smartphone will receive one lens with a resolution of 48 MP. In general, no changes are expected here. If you believe the long-term forecasts, budget iPhones will become a regular part of the lineup. In 2027, Apple will release the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e simultaneously in the spring, six months after the Pro versions. This will allow the company to further differentiate its audience and encourage upgrades at every stage.
Thus, the iPhone 17e promises to be a real hit among those who want up-to-date hardware without overpaying for top-end cameras and body materials. The combination of the A19 chip,The likely Dynamic Island and proven design could make it one of the most balanced Apple smartphones in years.
It's already interesting to see what the iPhone 17e will be like. Image: macrumors.com

https://appleinsider.ru/iphone/sovet-ot-apple-kak-ubrat-melkie-carapiny-s-iphone-17-pro-i-iphone-17-pro-max.html
Thu, 02 Oct 2025 15:00:23 +0000https://appleinsider.ru/?p=547387The release of the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max was not without discussions about their durability. The anodized aluminum case is lightweight and looks nice, but some units, especially demo units in stores, began to show small marks. Bloomberg reported that Apple even recommended that retail store employees regularly clean the back panels of iPhones with a special solution with added salt.
This piqued the interest of users: is it possible to repeat this technique at home and remove shallow scratches? One of the first experiments was successful. 9to5Mac tried to reproduce the mixture on its own iPhone 17 Pro, and the result was pleasantly surprising. Plain water combined with a small amount of sea salt proved to be more effective than an alcohol solution.
This scratches are most often caused by MagSafe chargers. Image: x.com
It's important to understand that we're talking about surface scratches and abrasions, which are more likely to be the result of material transfer from accessories (such as MagSafe stands), rather than deep scratches. It's impossible to completely remove damage to the aluminum coating, but it can be made less noticeable. Here's how to try this method at home:
Take warm water and add a little sea salt. Adjust the proportions by eye—the mixture should be weak and free of large crystals.
Damp a soft, lint-free cloth (microfiber is best) in the solution and gently wipe the scratched area.
Don't rub hard — use light, circular motions.
After treatment, immediately wipe the case with a clean, dry cloth.

Many users note that on light-colored cases (for example, natural aluminum), such marks become virtually invisible. On darker versions, the effect is less pronounced, but still helps smooth out visible marks.
Of course, the result may depend on the specific color of the device and the depth of the damage. If the scratch has penetrated the anodizing layer, it will not be possible to completely remove it. But in the case of small marks from accessories or stands, the salt water method works better than simple cleaning or isopropyl alcohol.
And the main conclusion: if you strictly use iPhone without a case, it is better to choose a silver case. Scratches and scuffs are much less visible on it. For everyone else, the easiest way is to protect your smartphone with a case and not worry about minor defects at all.

I don't know how to code, but I make my own iPhone apps by simply speaking queries to the neural network. You can too

"Just add water" is now available on iPhone
Previously, to write a program, you had to download gigabytes of Xcode, understand the documentation, write the code, and test it on the simulator. Now everything is different. A new iOS app lets you literally turn any idea into ready-made software right on your iPhone.
Vibecoding: what is it?
Former Apple employees created a team and released a product called bitrig. The new product can create games and programs, and you don’t need to know programming languages or other nuances. The idea is simple: you describe in simple words what you want to get, and the system itself generates a ready-made application. All this can be done both with text and voice. Moreover, bitrig shows intermediate steps, so you can always see how an idea turns into code.
At the moment, bitrig knows many popular frameworks, so it is capable of creating not only simple notes or calculators, but also projects with maps, widgets, and even multimedia support. The result of your work can be launched directly on the device, refined manually, or, if you have a Pro subscription, uploaded to TestFlight to install it on your iPhone or share with other users. The program can also be published in the App Store, but you will have to register a developer profile and pay fees.
Of course, there are limitations. The free version allows you to send only up to thirty messages per month, and no more than five per day. Subscription removes some limitations and adds new features. It will cost $19.99.
How to create your own iPhone app
We decided to check if everything the developers write about their program is true. So we came up with a simple experiment: let's ask the neural network to create an assistant app. It should accept voice or text notes, and store the recorded tasks in a list format. The current weather by geolocation will be displayed on top of them.
By the way, all this already sounds like a request for a neural network. Let's ask it to implement everything we listed above.
Tell the neural network everything that comes to mind. It's a good idea to describe the task as thoroughly as possible right away, so as not to waste precious free attempts on fine-tuning details later.
Enter the query in the box and wait for the neural network to think and do something. When everything is ready, a corresponding notification will appear in the conversation.
We had to add comments and tweak the program a bit. But it turned out pretty well, even the first time.
Here's what we got for the request above. The program determined the location and immediately showed the current temperature, and a button appeared at the top with which you can add a reminder. By the way, you can enter it manually or dictate it by voice.
And voila, everything works. The reminder has been added and can be beautifully crossed out from the list if you tap the circle on the left.
It must be said that bitrig works very carefully: it only does what is asked of it, but does not guess or write additional tasks of its own. And many neural networks are guilty of this. So, putting together a working framework will not be a problem, even with five free messages a day. But to create something more serious, you will have to fork out for a subscription. By the way, you can pay for it through the App Store, and it is best to top up your wallet in our own way.
Of course,A neural network won't replace a professional developer. However, it can be used to quickly and easily test an idea, create a working prototype, and immediately see how the future program will look on the iPhone.
